About Us
Are you tired of searching for entry-level product management jobs only to find they require 1-3 years of experience?
Are you fed up with the catch-22 that you can’t work in product management until you have product management experience?

Are you ready to start your Product Management career?
“I have gained a strong exposure to what is expected of a Product Manager and I believe I know enough in order to continue my pursuit of fine-tuning these various skillsets. I truly enjoyed working with the Founder to complete Discovery.”
“The PM Project gave me hands-on experience in managing a product from initiation to launch. My favorite part of the program was identifying my client’s challenges and brainstorming solutions.”
“What surprised me the most about product management was the overlap it has with business analysis while still having discernible differences. My favorite part of the program was learning to discern a solution from chaos. ”
How does it work?
If accepted in the PM Project you will get paired with a startup and given a product problem to solve within the course’s 10-week timeframe. Previous participants have worked on projects ranging from:
Identifying security vulnerabilities
Creating an internal admin console
Identifying a target market and tailoring product features
And more!
I’m sure you’re wondering….but does the program work?
At the start of Cohort 1, 1 out of 6 participants answered that if they were hired as Product Manager today they were confident they would be successful in the role. At the end of the program, 5 out of 6 participants were confident in their ability to begin working as a Product Manager.
Two Cohort 1 participants secured Rotational Product Manager Interviews with Meta, with no previous product management experience.
One participant was offered a paid position to stay on with a startup. If your goal is to get noticed by top companies and transition into product roles - it works!
Your Product Coach
Hi, I’m Roniqua
(pronounced Ron-knee-kwa)
I started working in Product Management in 2017. My first product role actually fell into my lap and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. A former manager recommended me for a PM role within the company and I took it. I was not happy in my current role and was ready for something different. From that experience, I was able to launch the Postal Services’ first blockchain pilot. I quickly realized how my skills from my formal education in business and marketing translated nicely into Product. Not only that, I realized how much more I could be getting paid for my skillset! If it were not for my first ally, I would not be where I am today.
After having product experience on my resume I started to get noticed by recruiters and accepted a role at Capital One Bank as the Mobile Payments Sr. Associate Product Manager. I had never worked on mobile! But I had never worked on blockchain either and was able to figure it out. My willingness to learn and take on new challenges quickly catapulted my career.
Over the course of my 6 years in Product, I’ve worked on blockchain, mobile, voice, and web products. There is a noticeable disparity of representation and I experienced first-hand the microaggressions of being the “other” in the room. Did you know that only 3% of Product Managers are black and only 34% are women? Unshockingly, 50% of women in tech jobs leave by age 35 due to noninclusive company culture. Women are less likely to be given the floor to speak, less likely to be believed, and more likely to be considered unqualified. Needless to say, there seems to be some gatekeeping in the industry. There are plenty of incredibly talented Product Leaders who are not getting a chance to shine. If it were not for my first ally and the first role with “Product Manager” on my resume I would not be where I am today.
I realize my story is not the average experience of being a black woman in Product. More of us need allies. More of us need to be given a chance and the grace to fail and try again. Which is why I created The Product Management Project. It is my desire to level the playing field by giving underrepresented groups the opportunity to not only learn Product Management skills but to also apply them in real-time. My LinkedIn was not noticed until it had “Product Manager” proudly posted as my title. I want to give others the same opportunity that was afforded to me. Let us be your ally. Are you ready to take your career to the next level?
